The History of APG Electric
APG Electric began doing business in the Tampa Bay area on January 23, 1984. But our roots really go back nearly a century to The Doan Electric Company of Cleveland, Ohio which was founded by A. P. Goulder (the "APG" of our name) in 1915. Mr. Goulder began his business wiring homes - converting them from gas lighting to electric lighting.
Doan principals from the Goulder and Heiser families founded APG Electric in 1984 with John R. Kavula and Jerold B. Lightner. John and Jerry now serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer respectively, sharing management responsibilities with Michael D. Henley, President and Christopher M. Johnson, Vice President.
