APG Awarded USF Sun Dome Renovation
We are pleased to announce that APG Electric was recently awarded the $5.1 million University of South Florida Sun Dome Renovation Project! Construction is now underway for completion by April 15, 2012. This is a very compressed schedule which will require a significant amount of over-time and skill on the part of our team.
The Sun Dome has been an icon of USF's campus for decades. Original construction was completed in the early 1980s, when our very own John Kavula and Jerry Lightner served as project manager and general superintendent for the project while working for Aneco. John and Jerry remember the many difficulties faced during the arena's initial build and have often used the Sun Dome as an example of how challenging some projects can be.
With that in mind, APG is especially excited to take on this extensive renovation and it is our intention to count it as one of our best projects. Every APG employee is due a measure of credit for our success in being awarded the job since this project is about three things we do exceptionally well: performance, performance and performance!
APG Electric is proud to have been selected and is committed to giving the very best service to Skanska, Populous, Henderson Engineers, and the University of South Florida.
